Congrats on your engagement Steve....

Yep, the wired PT SL is a very good power meter. I have a couple of them on race wheels and everyday wheels and they've been great. You can generally buy them either as hub sets with the electronics as shown in the ad you linked or as built up wheelsets. I typically buy the complete wheelsets but that's up to you.

I suppose a power meter might make a good gift for one's first wife, but I think it depends on the circumstances of the breakup. If things didn't go well, then I might suggest something more akin to this. 😉

i would like to know if it there is any problem. must i send to the shop for regular service. is there a not wireless version. also how difficult to fix it on another wheel.

Steve, I've been using the Powertap Pro for a month now. It is similar to the SL, the only difference being the aluminum spindle and freehub body on the SL for weight savings.

If there's a problem with your system, you'll have to send it to Saris. And yes, there are wireless versions. In fact, in 2009, all Powertap hubs are wireless.

If you wanted to put the hub on a different rim, changing it would be the same as switching any hub to another rim. It's not different just because it's a powermeter (It's just like a regular hub).

But honestly, an SRM is a first wife's gift!!! Ciclosport HAC for the 4th wife!

Hello, thanks for the feedback. you see i live in a place nobody service or sell a Powertap. so if any problem i must go back to another country, which is to take a ship crossover the SEA. you see how far. i must be ensure minimum problem.

Steve, I understand. I live in Korea, and I really, really hope my Powertap continues to work well for a long time. Otherwise, it's going to be a PITA to send it back to Saris.
