Just wondering what everyone is reading to keep up to date, build programs, or even old school ideas still relevant today.
My list:
The Complete Guide to Endurance Training. Ackland, Jon
great periodization structures, tables, formulas to easily build annual plans. I really like his smooth taper down in the speedwork phase.
High Performance Cycling. Jeukendrup, Asker
Just great, some hidden gems, and great nutrition advice.
Road Cyclist's (& MTB) Training Bible. Friel, Joe.
This is where to start, Idiot's guide to periodization. Warning: intensity is difficult to schedule.
Greg Lemond's Complete Book of Bicycling. Lemond, Greg (with Gordis).
How it was done. concepts integrate easily with periodization. No shortage of intensity here.
Allen/Coggan is in the mail.
I'd really like Jeukendrup's Nutrition book.
