  1. I have two lumps on the outside edge of my biceps that feels like two
large chords running over the top of it lengthwise right in the middle
of the belly of the muscle. Anyone ever hear of a biceps tearing like
that? It feels like there is something foreign in there but not a lot
    of pain and no bruising.

I'm not sure. The only thing I can think of is the couple of sets of
dumbbell curls I did Saturday after doing my CG Bench/heavy triceps
    workout.

Sounds like a partial tear. Go see the doctor. Don't lift anything

I would take David's advice and see a doc, but I would be amazed you
could tear a bicep enough to actually feel the lump with no pain at all.

John did say "not a lot of pain", so, I suppose he has some. You're right,
in that one would expect significant pain from a muscle tear, but, if it's
very partial, just enough to cause the contractions resulting in the
"chords", combined with John's baseline pain relief blood levels, maybe.
Dunno'. Most any competant MD could diagnosis it with a simple exam.

Assuming your diagnosis is correct, what you expect the MD to do or
suggest John do? I'll hazard a guess that, for a partial tear like
this, you do nothing except let it heal on its own, but I'm curious to
know if, e.g., taking x-rays/ct scan/mri of it and/or surgery is
warranted to be sure it heals properly.

I went to the doc. It is a partial tear. He told me not to do curls
unless I'm in a power cage. Okay, he said not to do curls for a couple
of weeks and then start with the little dumbbells. No tendons
    tore...just the muscle itself.

Unfortunately, my pain relief blood levels have been nonexistant
lately. I'm trying to lose some fat. I weighed in at the doctors
office today at 221 with shoes, pants and shirt on as well as all of
the accessories (wallet, phone, etc.). I'm wasting away to nothing.

I wouldn't say no pain but there certainly isn't much. As a matter of
fact, there is none with the arm resting comfortable at my side.

I was told to not use the biceps for a couple of weeks and then start
rehabbing it. He also said that if I did start working the muscle
before it heals, there is a good chance that it will tear more and
then I may need to go in and have some surgery done to it.

When Shawn Cain tore his last biceps
    (http://www.northernlinks.com/yohan/videos/nationals.mpg this clip
doesn't work for everyone. Watch his right biceps roll up into his
sleeve), he said he felt it go but not really any pain. He also found
out he has an extra attachment for his biceps that the rest of us
mortals don't have but that is another story.

I believe that would qualify as a "good thing" as the muscle ought to
heal a lot faster than a tendon tear.

Indeed, as torn tendons don't heal at all. One of the reasons orthopedic
surgeons drive really nice cars and live in really nice houses.

And they are worth every damn cent!
