why do you spread thjese rumors?
You're absolutely right. I shouldn't spread rumors about who the last clean Tour winner might have been.
I vote for Gino Bartali
Benjo
There's no doubt in my mind that Lance Armstrong in the 2005 and 2006 TdF's was clean. 100% clean. I mean that seriously. He knew he was in the spotlight and there was no way he could get away with anything. He got all the modern tests and was negative.
Was LA clean in 1999 or 2000? Like a lot of people I have my doubts.

I think it's a hell of a lot easier to be clean if you're racing 30 - 50 days a year instead of 110.

I'm glad to know that rbr can see inside the mind of LANCE. I'm also glad to hear that LANCE was clean for the 2006 TdF. Obviously, he did this just for the sake of those of his fans who believe in him as a saint (beyond believing in him as a good rider). Since even with [censored] Pound on the case, there was very little chance that LANCE would be tested during the 2006 TdF.
Why in the hell does everyone believe the LeMond was clean too? Just because he says he was? I'm not saying he was a doper too, but they all say they aren't dopers. What really makes you believe him any more than anybody else? Because he's a cheese head now?
I think he is loud and vocal because he thinks that the dope today has more of an influence on the final results with the conradictory feeling that it is more pervasive. He's convinced himself that, relatively speaking, he was dope free. Give him another few years, he'll be able to pass a lie detector test.
He was a green or blue zone doper - he had the talent to never have to cross into the orange or red zones.
