1) Do you prefer roller trainers or rear wheel trainers?

4) Would you use a adjustable stability device, so you could vary the amount of support (vary from complete support to allowing full range of motion, just prevent from falling) if it were available?

2. 1. Rollers.
2. Further trains your balance. Can add more resistance if desired with a fan. Fun. :p
3. I added a wooden block (basically a step) to the right of mine so I could clip out and have my foot hit what is pretty much road level.
4. Maybe. There are times its nice to have a fixed position trainer.

3. 1. I use both, but use a trainer more because it connects to my computer and offers infinitely more training options.
2. Rollers for balance and fluid motion training, trainers see # 1.
3. Better and more reliable computer software for training interface.
4. No.

4. I'll have to try trainers again sometime. The last time I tried them, it was a good way to maim myself.

5. 1 - Trainer

2 - At this point in time I benefit more from the ability to do hardcore interval work indoors during the winter. My technique is far from perfect I am sure, so I would no doubt benefit from working on rollers, but training time for me is limited at this time and so it's interval work for me.

3 - I treated myself to a really nice trainer so at this point I have no complaints.

6. 1) Rollers
2) They just feel a lot more natural. I had to ride on a trainer for a little while after breaking a collar bone in a crash, and hated every minute of it.
3) I have flat rollers, and the parbolic kind look a bit safer.
