I have switched over to diet pop (borderline diabetic) and find that most aren't that bad. I really like Diet(s) Pepsi, Coke, and Dr.Pepper. And I find I like them better in a can rather than a 2-liter bottle.
What is your favorite? I may be missing out on some good diet pops.

A&W root beer. My standard. Actually, most diet root beers are pretty decent, but I do have a distinct preference for A&W. I'm not crazy about their cream soda, which sucks, because cream soda is a big favorite of mine.
Diet orange Crush is really good! Really, really good!
Fresca is good if you liked Squirt in your sugar days. I occasionally have Fresca with a little gin in it.
Why doesn't anyone make a diet tropical punch? <pouting>

I agree with A&W and Fresca. They do make a Diet Squirt if you can find it.
I like Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale (and the Diet Raspberry Ginger Ale when you can find it).
Don't forget about Tab (and it's cousins now called Pepsi One and Coke Zero).

7-up has a diet tropical punch; I'm not sure the exact name of it. Seven-up Plus [something]. It's in an orange-colored can, contains a little pineapple juice, and has 10 calories per can. The red can with berry juices in it is really good too.
The orange tropical 7-Up is in a 3-way tie for my favorite diet drink, along with Fresca and Canada Dry Diet Ginger Ale.

Slice is about the only one I can stand. Most of them are OH too sweet!
It's ticking me off too that most of the sodas that are switching over to Splenda are also adding Asulfame potassium (K) into them as an added sweetner.
That stuff is disgusting and leaves a sickeningly sweet aftertaste for hours.
I don't understand why they are doing that! Splenda by itself would be fine. :-( -- Om.

Coke Zero is, IMHO, better than Diet Coke...

Water. I really dislike most sodas other than tonic water.

I like Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper (though it's hard to find...sometimes my supermarket has it, sometimes not). I drink all the caffeine free versions of things...diet Coke and Pepsi. They are good with a squirt of fresh lime juice. Fresca is nice, too.
Seltzer (not tonic water, which has sugar) with lots of ice and a squeeze of fresh lime is very refreshing.

Has to be Diet Lime Coke, the pepsi version is not as good. Even tho it's with aspartame, its not bad. Diet coke comes in second. And for all round drinking, Fruit20 on the non-carbonated side. Lime, grape & raspberry are good. In the same vein, diet Lemon Disani is very tasty and better lemon flavor than Fruit20. Edrena, out to buy some more.

Sorry, but I can't stand diet pop. The artificial sweeteners have a horrible after taste. There was a Pepsi light for a while, don't know if it is still available, but it was sugar reduced and some artificial sweetener. It wasn't too bad.

Indeed. Tonic water has a lot of sugar in it. My wife gets President's Choice Diet Tonic. She likes it. I think it is even more disgusting than other artificially flavoured sodas. I avoid soda pop calories by simply not having much of it. On hot summer days I would rather have a club soda with a slice or lemon and/or lime. However, I confess to having a weakness for gin and tonic, and I am not going to ruin the ultimate drink with diet tonic.

My xSIL told me that I shouldn't drink soda made with that stuff. She said it caused rapid muscle decay. Without verification, I stopped drinking aspartame'd soda.

I rarely drink calories and so diet drinks are my friend. But I only ever drink diet cola. And then when I get bored, I switch to tea, carbonated spring water, tomato juice, diet ice tea, coffee. occasionally,. water with a vitamin tablet made for dissolving (fizzy stuff). There must be diet syrups out there, too.

Anything with Splenda. Nutrasweet doesn't taste even the slightest bit sweet to my palate (indeed, it tastes more like ammonia, very bitter). At least Splenda tastes like a sweetener.
