Police Screw Up Again

Why didn't they just wait till the suspects had left the house, made an arrest and then searched the building, explaining they had received a report that there was some dangerous device in the building?
Instead, they barge into this home in the early morning, assault the suspects and shoot one of them during the fracas.
Sorry, but this doesn't seem to me like reponsible policing 😕
George Galloway has now called for Ian Blair's resignation. In this instance, I have to agree with Galloway. I'm all in favour of taking a strong stance on terrorism but not in favour of beating up suspects who may well not be guilty in the first place.
I think a lot of questions need to be answered here.

Yeah, it seems to have been a right mess.

I watched C4 News and Newsnight.
The press were briefed in the immediate aftermath of the arrests "we've incontrovertible evidence of terrorist activity"....."We've been given intelligence that there was a lethal bomb in the house".
Turns out that all this "information" was wrong.

Apart from accidentally shooting of the alleged terrorists, what is evident is that the police/security services haven't got a clue.
The police don't know if their information is right or wrong
If there intelligence is wrong - as in this matter - what's to say that their intelligence is correct in other cases?

If I were those two brothers, I would sue Ian Bliar and the Met for every single penny.

I had a chat with a magistrate about that. Apparently the Police were simply given an address, a couple of names + descriptions and told to go get them. It is reckoned to be MI5's call.

The weirdest thing was reading the stories in National Newspapers claiming that the shot was fired by one of the brothers. Surely the police would have charged said brother with firearms offences if that was the case, yet they were released without charge.

I think this is a clear cut human rights issue as opposed to politics. I would never condone knocking down any person's door in the middle of the night, let alone assaulting them on the basis of unproved evidence. As I recall, the man who lived next door suffered a similar raid but was injured around the head by a blow he sustained.
So, yes, my sympathy definitely lies with the folks who were assaulted by the police and I can believe they would have been baffled, shocked and terrified.
I think the way matters should have been conducted would have been to arrest the suspects when they were out of the home in question and explain their house needed to be searched due to allegations made against them. Once in custody they should have been treated decently. The search would have revealed the entire case had been a fabrication and that would have been the end of it.
On this one occasion I agree with George Galloway that Ian Blair should be sacked. Heads should roll in the Police department as well. These suspects weren't even informed the intruders were police or given any instructions. One man was dragged down the stairs and beaten without any warning and the only stash in his gym was a bunch of weights and barbells. 😕

About four years ago 5 friends of mine were woken up at 3am by policeman sticking MP5s up their noses. One of them was even forced onto the main road stark-bollock-naked in North London. The reason given for the SMG up the nose treatment followed by naked and semi-naked humiliation at 3am was that they had rented a house from a pair of Turkish shop keepers. That was the sole reason given. The irony is that two of those people were from Northern Ireland, they grew up with that kind of [censored] happening to them.

The PM and his Police Force(s) are rapidly getting out of control, there is no rule of law.

I guess I've been there. When I lived in Russia, my friend Igor's brother was apprehended by Russian police one night and badly beaten up. He had dark skin and this was the motive for the attack.
I was also jumped on by three Russian cops one night when I was walking home late as, according to one of the cops, he didn't like the way I looked over at the jeep. I had three of them around me and one guy waving this baton while another was poking a machine gun at me.
I do agree, though, the situation as reported was intolerable.
These Asian guys were basically treated like garbage and they have every right to sue and raise holy hell. One of the guys could have been shot through the heart and would have died as a result.
To me, they don't seem like terrorists at all and they held regular jobs and seem to live a clean life. If the police continue to behave in this way they will lose public support and co-operation.
Fortunately, not all the apples in the barrel are rotten so let's hope Galloway gets his way and people are held to account.
