  1. Hi,

Can anyone who has this comment on the size/weight of the watch itself
(ideally with measurements!)? It definitely looks a bit bulky in
photos, but is hard to judge the scale.

Also, I don't suppose anyone knows if a new version/model is imminent?
It seems to have been around for a while now and as it was quite a
radical step forward I would have thought a new model might well be
pending - a smaller one perhaps!

    Cheers,
    Rob

    It weighs 9.5 lbs.

    The new weighs 12.6 lbs.

It's only a little bulkier than my S410 - but it does oh so much more.
    It's about 5.3cm x 4.8cm (button to button) x 1.6cm but don't have my
digital scale handy for weight. It snags a little when pulling jackets
off, but not much. I really like mine.

Clueless as to future, but they did appear to dumb it down for RS200sd.

Just glancing quickly at the features, they appear to have removed the
cycling stuff and the cell phone connectivity (I think that's what it
was) - no loss there. But they also removed the barometric altimeter,
which was one of the main features for me. This may not be important for
many folks. I suspect the RS200sd is smaller than the 625 since it
doesn't have the altimeter and connectivity.

It's wearable, but you have to keep the strap fairly tight. Unlike my old
Xtrainer plus, I would not want to wear the s625x as an everyday watch. Like
Dot, I love the features, though I don't use the speed/distance pod very
often. The altimeter is decent, but rounds off too much for my liking when
    accumulating climb.

Previously I had gotten a polar AXN500 'outdoor' model that has a compass as
well as lots of altitude features, but the damn thing was really heavy and
awkward with it's titanium case. I
realized right away I wouldn't want to wear it and sent it back. Hiking with
that model might be ok, but on long trail runs it would wear a hole in your
wrist. Even hiking you would be aware of it all the time at over 1/4 pound.
The s625x less than 1/2 the weight and rides ok if you keep the strap fairly
    tight.

Just tow it on a trailer behind you.

The future is, as they say, so bright you'll need shades - and almost
bionic: iPolar and Adidas have proudly introduced "the world's first
completely integrated training system", called "Project Fusion".
"Special fibers bonded onto Adidas tops will eliminate the need for a
separate chest strap to monitor heart rate" and "the Fusion shoe has a
strategically placed cavity in the midsole which can house the very
light sensor, making it easier to use, more comfortable and more
    consistently accurate than top-of-the-shoe systems":-)

The RS200sd is indeed much smaller - it's actually flatter than the old
    "plain" S-series..

Wow! Impressive. (although I hope it works faster than their web page
loads - I finally saw the details on the subsequent link posted) Now -
will the Fusion shoe come in widths and appropriate biomechanics for
everyone? Or will that be one of their computerized shoes? The top may
need to be fairly tight fitting for good contact - unless it's using a
    different principle.

I think I liked the price of the 625 better 😉

    Thanks.
