  1. Hi All,

I just installed a Polar power out sensor on my bike. After what seemed like fifty zipp ties, and 20mm of rubber spacing to get the sensor withing 10mm of the chain I am not getting any power readings to the watch.

There is power getting to sensor as it is showing the speed and Cadence LED light. (but not at the watch)

Is there a starting point to troubleshoot this thing ? Has anyone had a similar experience ?

All weights and lengths have been entered into the watch. The watch had good contact with the watch mount ?

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Fraggle

  2. try making sure that the "platform" of the power sensor is parallel with the chain. i had a polar power meter before switching over to powertap. i never really had and consistent troubles. once in a while i would produce 350W while riding at a little girl's pace. and the occasional black out for a few seconds.

  3. I have the same problem with my 3rd powermeter bought from ebay. But I'm exchanging it. I have no idea what the problem is, and the green light flashes for cadence.

  4. Thanks for your Comments guys. I replaced the Battery and am now getting data through to the watch. Must have been a faulty battery.

Now on a side note. Display setting on the Watch for power output !

Have any of the users out there been able to set up the display as:

    L/R Balance
    Power output
    Heart Rate (Altitude)

If so where abouts in the settings can this be done ?

    Cheers

There is an option for that though I'm not sure what you mean by
    "Heart Rate (Altitude)"

    BTW I'm assuming this is a S725.
When you start your recording the watch should start with the stop watch time in the middle Speed up the top and %HR down the bottom.

Whilst recording the Bottom right buttom will cycle through the middle section option. The top options will change as well to the default settings as you cycle through them.
Four push's will get you to Power. (can't remember all of them tho Altitude is NO# 3) Then use the Top left to cycle through to LR balance.

By pusing and holding the bottom right you can change the way your HR reads. Average, normal HR and % of max.

IMHO though the LR balance is not very good too look at while you are training because the readings will not make any sense. Basically it will read stuff like 75-25, 82-18 etc etc. However once you get back and look at the stats they will be averaged into more meaningful data. For example mine normally ends up 51-49. However I don't think I have ever seen that or anything close to it while riding. The reason for this is due to the fact you are smpling at best every 5 sec. You definitly will not get anything like a power curve for each leg. If you want that you will need SRM's with the additional S/W.
