I've had Shimano W101 cycling boots since recommendations from this NG last winter. Like 'em.
What can I do to temporarily plug the holes in the sole (for the SPDs)? My upper feet/ankles stayed largely dry during a 20-mile very wet ride today, but water crept in through the sole-holes leaving my toes and soles of feet wet & cold. Tried brown packing tape over the holes, but this gets abraded off quickly.
I don't yet use SPDs but planning on them eventually. As such, I don't want to cripple the boots by dripping wax or melted plastic into the holes, etc. Looked on the net - could only find covers to protect the cleat itself when mounted on a shoe.
Any help (or DIY suggns) appreciated - cheap as poss cos I'm skint. Thanks.

Silicone rubber sounds good. Or short screws in the bolt holes if they'd help?
If you want to try tape again, duct tape is much stickier and tougher than parcel tape. Two or three layers of that might just work (for a few rides).
I use some surgical tape, which is extreemly tough and sticks no problem. Its called Leukoplast - although I bought it in NZ so not sure if its available here.
