  1. Please share knowledge and experience with creatine and BG level drops

For several years, I've been adding protein shakes made with .5% LF
milk and powder to my diet. These give me a sweet treat, and there are
almost no carbs. As another benefit, it's easy to calculate the
calories using my food scale. One of my favorite uses is to freeze a
serving into ice cube trays. I'll pop a few out of the freezer when I
want a treat. Most of the time when I'm shopping for a mix, I look
only at the price per serving and the carb/fat/protein section of the
nutrient lable. It must have little or no carbs, and the protein made
    from whey.

Last Friday, I bought a different mix. In small letters on the lable,
it says it has 2.5g creatine monohydrate per serving. I have two or
three servings a day. I googled creatine and see it's often added to
athelete's diets, served with fruit juice or other sweet treats before
exercise. The claims I read about creatine for atheletes ranged from
rave reviews to it's a 100% $cam. Any believeable source of a study
said there were no measurable improvements in an athelete's
performance. I certainly don't feel any better. No more energy,
    stamina, whatever. Nada.. nichie voh.

However, most of the reports I bumped into said creatine assists cells
utilizing insulin and uptake of glucose. To me, the protein shakes
are only a substantial and satisfying treat that don't raise my BG.
I'm not fantasizing about wrestling the California Governorship away
    from anyone soon.

The problem is my BG readings have been too low for several days now.
These are often in the 70s (mg/dl) from a OneTouch Ultra. Using my old
OneTouch Basic (whole blood calibrated) the readings have been
verified in mid-50s. To correct the low, I'll eat a slice of "tan"
bread, i.e., not white, not dark. Normally, this is good for a 20
point BG increase. But now this has no effect! Last night I ate about
50g-75g(dry pre-cooked weight) of whole barley to get my BG up from my
Ultra's 70. This had little effect at both 1 and two hours, too.

    My meds:
    1800 mg metformin total: 450 rise/lunch/dinner/bedtime
30 mg gliklazid total: 15 rise 15 dinner
    2 mg Avandia lunch
    5 mg Lipitor bed

I'm soliciting any and all to share knowledge and experience with
creatine and it's effect on BG?

    Thanks
    Rich(not wealthy, 50 YO, 5 year Dx t2)
