I don't think Doug and I can have much effect locally as
we're both in NY a state that's pretty much in the bag for
Kerry. For it to work those votes need to be in the states
that can make a difference. States where voters have been
purged off the rolls for heinous crimes, you know the ones,
like being Africa-American. You're right though it's easier
to complain than act , I will look for ways to support new
voter registration nationally.

Further proof that people who act by only listening to their
hearts vote Democrat, and people who actually use their
brains vote Republican. I actually think we need a mix of
both, as long as the brain-users are in charge.

Good luck. Most democrats could care less about the state of
affairs. "Get out the vote" programs are specifically geared
towards getting liberals into office. OTOH, republicans
understand the value of their vote. They understand that our
ancestors have fought and died for our right to vote. There
is no question that on the first Tuesday in November it is
our duty to know the issues and vote accordingly, regardless
of your political views.
