  1. If some wingnut posts to this group solely to raise your ire and call
    you names, replying in any way to his post in a public manner only
    stokes his ego. Arguing with him, calling him names, reasoning your
    point of view - it doesn't matter.

    Please don't feed the trolls. If you ignore them, they'll go away.

    You can configure a lot of news readers to ignore certain people and
    certain subject lines. Try it!

    'do not feed teh troll' post feed them as well, as do pointing out 'do not
    feed teh troll' post, so we're both guilty.

    A common fallacy among those who haven't been around long enough to know
    better.

    But you are correct that good filters work. Crosspost filters work best.
    The other good filtering method is reading his posts; after awhile you
    realize he's doing nothing but dull repetition of well-worn flames.
