1. You cant "spot reduce" fat over the abs by dieting,
anymore than a thin person can decide where to put fat on.
2. A bodybuilding maxim is "Abs start in the kitchen"
ie use diet to get body fat to below 12%
2. You can look to sites like http://www.skippypodar.net/Fitness/
for workouts. But genetics play a big part.

Someone described something called abs diet here before, it was a eat
less, eat this and do not eat that kind of diet with some exercises.

I'll go a little further. The publisher's of Men's Health and their
peer female health mag are the main proponents of the Abs Diet.
It does NOT advocate spot reduction, but rather, as Ig suggests, low
calorie, low fat + Exercise type of diet.
Lots of lean protein and veggies. Lots of full body workouts, with an
emphasis on the muscular development of the abdominal area (as opposed
to spot reduction, you can actually build the muscles in isolation, so
that if you actually do get down to 10-12% body fat, the muscles will
just POP out).
Hollywood, who notes, in JC terms, that the Abs Diet is NOT low carb.

Yes. It is somewhat misnamed as to suggest that it does spot
reduction. That confuses people.

No... but I've thumbed through it at the library and it looks OK to
me. Basically, if I recall, it's about eating 'clean' foods,
moderately high in protein? Let me see if I can remember the key
foods...
A - almonds (and other nuts)
B - beans (and lentils)
S - salmon and seafood??
D - dairy (low fat)
I - ice cream? icing sugar?? Iguanas? Really can't remember....
E - eggs
T - turkey and other lean meats?
Hmmm... no fruit and veggies. Mabye 'I' was Iceberg lettuce? ' A'
could have been apples...

A - Almonds (and other nuts)
B - Beans (and other legumes)
S - Spinach (and other green veggies)
D - Dairy
I - Instant Oatmeal
E - Eggs
T - Turkey (and other lean meats)
P - Peanut Butter
O - Olive Oil
W - Whole Grains (Breads and Cereals)
E - Extra Protein Power (Whey)
R - Raspberries (and other berries)
This list is under the heading:
"Eat More to Weigh Less: add at least six of these powerfoods to your
diet each day and your body will have the fuel to become a fat-burning
machine."
If you are really interested in the Abs Diet,

(This link will take you to Men's Health's Abs Diet newsletter page).
If you really want to do it, get the book(s) and do it properly. You
will likely fail with it if you work the program based on heresay and
gossip.
-Hollywood, a fat burning machine despite not eating 6 of those a day.
