publicized these things, a stalker would call me at night and leave me a
foodie gift at the bottom of my stairs to my apartment. Do you think I went
out to look? Not on my life! In daylight the next day I would find it.
This kept up until I left town. Not everything is as innocent as it can be
taken for.

This was a FedEx delivery, next day air, delivered middle of the day, sent
from Chicago to Colorado. No stalker on the doorstep, and we figured out who
sent it, anyway. No problems. Still alive.

I'm glad that everything is OK. I'm still a nervous Nellie as you can see.
When I was alone at my f-i-l's apartment recently, the maintenance man came
to the door. I asked who it was and he said "Maintenance Man" in a
sing-song voice. I only heard "Candy Gram" and the SNL Jaws music
accompanying his voice; and I yelled quickly "GO AWAY!" Never can be too
careful --

I've been to Lou Malnati's, as I used to live in Chicago. Ultimately,
Deep Dish is not my fav, but Lou's was very good, as they used very good

delivery from some other state with nothing with it as far as we know
stating who sent it. They assume all is well, and go ahead and eat it.
Perhaps it's being overly cautious but I would at least want to know who
sent it before eating it. If for any reason just to know who sent it,
and to be able to thank them personally. There are enough people in the
world who would attempt to cause harm to other people even people they
don’t know. Think back to the Tylenol poisonings that happened in the
past. Things like that do happen, you idiot.

The pizzas came from a friend of my hubby's. I spent a bit of time with him
on the phone helping him with some computer issues, so he sent me the pizzas
as a "thank you."

That's who I figured it was, but it's also the same week as our wedding
anniversary, so I had a couple other suspects I had to weed out of the
equation before I thanked the wrong person, which could have been awkward.
And then he called and left a message on the machine, so there wasn't any
question.

I don't know why they didn't say who the order was from; it might have been
an error on their part, or he might not have thought of it when he ordered.
He probably planned on calling anyway.

We had the first pizza last night. Pan pizza isn't my favorite, but it was
good, and a darned thoughtful gesture on his part.

If something arrived on my doorstep and I absolutely couldn't think of
anyone who could have sent it, I would have been a bit suspicious. But in
this case, it was more a matter of which one it was. And considering how
pricey it is to send food next-day air from there to here (I know, I've done
it), it just didn't make sense that it was a practical joke or a random
stranger.
