    WoWee.

*Researchers claim eating pizza regularly reduced the risk of developing
    oesophageal cancer by 59%.*

Wonder how much they were paid to come to this conclusion?!?!

*The secret could be lycopene, an antioxidant chemical in tomatoes, which is
thought to offer some protection against cancer, and which gives the fruit its
    traditional red colour.*

    ****That's*** a secret?!?!

So why not just eat the tomatoes??

** Before people start dialling the pizza takeaway, they should consider that
pizza can be high in saturated fat, salt and calories **

    Well, well.

*Those who ate pizza at least once a week had less chance of developing cancer,
    they found. *

Better, yet have it three times a day!

These tid bit comes from educated researchers?!?!

And chocolate is good for you!

Let's all have our pizza followed by chocolate.

Why would you "think" that? Pizza is all natural.

Good question! Deserves a good answer!

Pizza is made with tomato *sauce* which is concentrated tomatoes, and,
thus concentrated lycopene. You get more of a good thing.

Besides, kids eat pizza without question, and they get there full dose
of lycopene without knowing that it is good for them.

    Well, well.

Make your own pizza at home with low fat, or non-fat cheese, homemade
tomato sauce, etc. Fixes the problem.

    Pizza flakes for breakfast.

    Pizza flavored ice cream.

    Pizza butter and jelly sandwiches.

    More educated than you.

Yes, it is. Check it out. Do your own research.

Pizza is made with tomato *sauce* which is concentrated tomatoes, and,

I believe it's also important that the sauce has been cooked, which
frees up more of these good nutrients. (The raw foods people are just
going to hate me for saying that, but it's true.)

IIRC from the first research on lycopene and cancer, you are correct.
The heating frees more, and the making of the sauce concentrates it.
