They are one of those things that I'm sure must have a better solution.
Pissing about with 6 various width washers on the inside of the wheel
with the wheel in place. It would be easy if you removed the wheel >:|
Those easily bored look away.
Put in shims, tighten down, peer at pads, decide it needs to go left.
Undo bolts, drop shims on floor, pick them up from under sofa, in bike
stand etc, exchange fat one for thin one, do everything up and it still
rubs. Undo everything again, swap fat one for a medium and a thin,
can't decide if two thins make a medium, do it all back up again and
still a bit out, repeat process add nauseum.
Aaargghhhhh! Then the front wheel...
Still, it's done and hopefully won't need doing again but the rear wheel
was a rrpita.
So thats it, just need to add oil to the hub and it's ready to ride.
Current concerns are;
1) Gearing. All done on the back of a [censored] packet.
2) Rear wheel. Spokes are for 3x actually laced
2x and out of thread on 3 of them and still not
as tight as I'd like.
3) Not sure about handle bar width. Pipe cutter at the ready.
4) Stem length and angle didn't even get [censored] packet treatment.
5) Gear shift needs swapping too left.
Which is where it started. Nnnnghh.
Nothing too bad, but I *really* don't want to rebuild the rear wheel
with shorter spokes :-( Time will tell.
