I took the dogs for their walk and one of them pooped 3 times, which was a
pain because I only had 3 bags and 2 dogs...
then I got home and immediately they wanted to go back out and you can't look
at a dog and say "screw you, grow a thumb and open the door and let yourself
out"!

It would have helped if at least one of them was a puppy, and that
they had looked up at you sadly with those big, brown eyes, imploring
you to take them out for a nice walk because they love you SO much!

Oh, I hear ya. For many years we've been a "cat" family, currently with
five. Recently, we added a puppy. I had forgotten how demanding a
puppy/dog can be, both on time and energy. I'm still not convinced we did
the right thing.

today and he behaved very badly. :-( I guess we must just forge ahead.

Thanks, Saerah. He is cute and very loving, but *very* untrained. I
haven't had a puppy/dog in 40 years, so I think of myself as not being a
dog person either. Even thought we have 5 cats, David (my SO) has wanted a
dog for a very long time. I guess we all have to "adjust". <g>

is! Is he going to be a big one? Nice color coat.
I had two Akita's, both girls, and one weighed 135 lbs.
We brought home a cat one time and within a few minutes we knew the cat had
to leave.
Tell the cats to watch their backs. ;-}

Thanks, Saerah. He is cute and very loving, but *very* untrained. I

There is a reason I like to adopt adult dogs, 6 month of age or older!
They are a heckuva lot easier to train IMHO. ;-)

I don't have the patience (or time) to deal with puppies so you have my
respect!

The shelters have a lot of trouble adopting out adult dogs. :-(
So many die....

There is a very loving border collie snoozing on my bed right now
looking oh so cute. I adopted her from the shelter at about 8 months of
age. She'd been there for awhile and they were fixin' to put her down.
I've had her for about 2 and 1/2 years now.

I'd never owned a BC before and she has been quite a challenge, but I've
no regrets.

Good luck training and remember, p-nut butter and cheese bits are your
friend!
