It all looks really cool except for the gap. I really like the shot of
Ian going over the petrified beast.

Looks great. Nice job! I'll second the second thoughts about the gap.
I'd have to see it in person, but I'm thinking I might have to pass on
that one. The other stuff looks really fun, and makes me want to get
back on the bike again soon (even though the skiing has been fantastic).

That goes on the list of trails to ride if I ever find myself out that way!

I found this section of text especially interesting:

"Oh yeah, while I'm thinking about it, I'll go ahead and mention that
I'm hoping to not see any modifications to these lines by riders who
claim that it's too hard. These are alternate lines, and the main
trail is still quite challenging. Please don't "fix" what you didn't
build- especially our friends on the mtbr.com board, none of whom
pitched in a hand today but will be complaining about something
anyways."

Yeah, that wasn't missed by anybody here, either. That's a problem
with the major foothills trails, obviously, when a barney can't do it,
rather than walk, he'll cut the trail or ride around it. Thankfully
we're aggressive in education and trail mtce.

And I tried to go help, but I got the email as to where and when the
Monday *after* they finished!

That looks schweet, good effort by the builders. What are the access
laws over the pond on building that kind of stuff? Over here we'd get
caned unless it was on private land.

Boise area is amazingly bike-friendly with the necessary govt'l support on
new trails. Our BLM chief is an avid mtnbiker, and we were just written up
in another Men's magazine as a bike-crazy place. That's a good thing.

We even just got a nice fat grant to build more trails. All these guys had
to do is enlist the help of our SWIMBA rep, who knows how to get the
appropriate approvals, and before you could huck off a rock, Voila! They
were given the green light. It really is amazing.

Tech jobs are not so good there. EE's can get work at Micron, but
that's about it. I looked. 😉

I was an Oracle Design Master (certified) back at Oracle 5. Move
towards Oracle ERP implementation and you can find work anywhere in the
states.
