For non tech stuff, try Pima & Dynamite north of Scottsdale. For a little above that but not too
tough, try Trail 100 off of Central (I think, I'm in Michigan but ride out there a few times a
year). For great trails w/some technical stuff-nothing insane though- do White Tanks west of town.
Best trails in the area in my opinion. It's right near South Mountain if I remember right. Also, not
too far from Los Dos Melinos, the best Mexican food in the state.

I wasn't going to respond to this, since the question completely dumbfounded
me... but out of the goodness of my heart, I am posting a link to a map of the East Valley with the
bike lanes, bike routes, paved, and unpaved bike trails. You'll have to zoom in quite a bit to
see the details, but this has everything you could want.

If that's not answer enough, I would normally just say -- there are hundreds of miles of canal banks
all over the valley. They aren't paved, but they are smooth as can be.

PS, the only paved bike trail I've been on is the one in Mesa between Center and Harris. They just
built that one last year as a city improvement & beautification project.

You might try Desert Classic trail at South Mountain park. Turn (hard) left at the end of the paved
road and you should end up on the right trail. It's not "non-technical", but there's nothing you
need any advanced skills to survive.

There are some other trails in the northeast portion of the park that aren't too technical, but can
be leg-and-lung-busters if you're not in good shape.

It can be pretty crowded - I've ridden it just to do something different, and enjoyed it... just be
careful and resign yourself to the fact you'll spend a lot of time going slow. It's pretty much a
long, linear trail - no "loop".

I would highly recommend not going on the paved "trail" in Scottsdale. While it is long, there are
tons of people out there. There are 3 year olds riding tricycles, skaters, etc. It is not a
complete loop.

Best low-technical trails in Phoenix are at South Mountain (Desert Classic -- very fun, can be long,
lots of fast stretches if you're into that) and North Mountain (Trail 100). Both feature some
arroyos -- washes -- that may surprise you if you don't have similar features where you come from.

The Scottdale thing is along some kind of greenway. It's swarming with moms-and-strollers and
rollerbladers; not recommended for bikes, unless you want to toodle along with a young child
w/training wheels. It's not a loop.
