I dunno. The ones I saw didn't show the nearby PMU hands moving at all,
and contact with 200 pounds of rider and bike at 70 km/h should move it
a lot.

Hushovd himself says it was probably a camera.

object and the blurry silver object goes flying. His arm hits the hand
after that.

far too obscure to identify. It looks like blurred backround colors to
me.

How on earth does a piece of foam slash one's arm like that? The only

You're probably correct.

What really stands out to me, though, is the number of people in the crowd
using digital cameras held out in the path of the oncoming riders. They're
staring at the LCD screens, which are probably just a bit less than usable
in the bright sunlight, hoping for what -- a blurry snapshot? And why, to
prove they were there? They have no idea how close the object in their LCD
screen actually is and they have absolutely no situational awareness.

Not the background as it's reflecting a highlight. The arm is showing a
shadow directly relation to the object. The hand is very much in a
holding position relative to the object.

Shaeffer Touchdown fountain pen, fully extended, cleverly disguised by

In the slow-motion enlarged view, it looked like something (camera?)
struck Hushovd's *helmet* as his head clearly (to me) bounced aside a
bit, *followed* by the hand striking his arm (when we see his arm glance
aside).

My view was pretty much the same. You can definitely see the camera (?)
getting knocked loose but it looked like it hit his helmet, not his arm.

Thor himself seems to think it was a PMU hand and has accepted an
apology and a gift from PMU officials. Also the wound was described as
a 5cm slash, in contrast to the "hole" mentioned earlier.

Outside of RBR there doesn't seem to be much interest in any detective
work about this.
