  1. What part do u live in and where do u cycle at? Im tired of riding in the same two spots and i am lookin for some clubs to ride with and or different good places where people go to ride.

    thanks.

  2. Hey again Hyperphreak! I live in the Tucker/Chamblee area (off of 85/Chamblee Tucker Rd). I regularly ride indoors on the trainer (gives a good, specified workout and often cooler than outdoors) and at Stone Mountain. There are several faster (18+mph from what I have heard) group rides near my area of town--Monday night (I believe) at 6:30pm there is a ride out of the parking lot for Maharja Indian Restaurant at Lavista and 285 that goes out to Stone Mtn and back; Saturday at Tucker HS at 9am (I think) that goes about 40 miles. You can also check out the websites www.bikesbl.org, and www.gtcbike.com--the first has many, many rides listed in all areas of town and the second is a group out of Gwinnett county that does some pretty nice rides out that way.

Overall, I think Stone Mountain is a pretty nice place to ride. It is relatively safe due to lower amounts of traffic (in some parts of the park) than the rest of Atlanta, the scenery is decent, it offers a varied terrain, and you can pretty much just ride as far as you can--no worries about "now I'm 30 miles from home and don't feel like riding another 30."

  3. Hi I live in the cumming area and ride here during the week, and head up to the mountains for a weekend ride, doing part, but not all of the 6 gap ride (3-4 gaps.) Here is the hardest set of gaps (only 3 out of 6) hogpen. 7 mile climb about 10 percent grade.

here is another that is a bit easier
