I ordered a Zassenhaus peppermill from them a year ago. Much
cheaper than anywhere else I could find, including Penzey's;
love that peppermill! Came with tellicherry peppercorns.

The Spice House is another Milwaukee based company owned by
the daughter(? I think) of the Penzey's. Both smell great
when you walk inside!

The Spice House is the original Penzey family
store. I don't know who in the family owns it now,
but I'm pretty sure it's still owned by someone in
that family. The "first" Penzey had a small place
just a block or two from his home after he
"retired". We were there once and he's a
fascinating, knowledgeable spice enthusiast. I have
no idea whether that store's still there, or even
whether he's still alive. That was several years

I found a reference that says that Patty _Penzey_ Erd and
Tom Erd are the sister and brother-in-law of the founder
of Penzey's.

They have a nice store in the Old Town section of Chicago
(on Wells St.). The quality is very high, and they have some
interesting "Chicago" spice blends....
