Pedal clearance

That is certainly lower than my Trek MTB. It has about 135mm clearance
with 175mm cranks. My road bike has 75mm with 190mm cranks.

A rule of thumb on rigid mtbs was that the BB height being circa 12" =
300mm(ish). Deduct from this 175 of commonly fitted cranks leaves 125mm so
yours seems particularly low. But maybe you have a small frame?
Unweighted suss bikes may have a greater measurement.

Are you sure you've got the right sized wheels on your bike? You
haven't gone and put 20" wheels on instead of 26" ones have you?

uncompressed compressed
Santa Cruz Juliana 120mm
Cannondale Jekyll 155mm 120mm
Klein Mantra 175mm

The Mantra has a lot of rear suspension travel and I would be surprised
if the compressed clearance was more than 140mm - but I found measuring
the compressed clearance extremely awkward so I'm not going to measure
again! The Jekyll obviously has variable geometry but I currently have
it set about the middle of its range. Any higher and I find it hard to
get a foot down and consequently tend to fall off more.
