As in a previous post I like to eat peanuts with a couple of beers and it's
very hard for me not to eat too many peanuts. Is there a good munching
snack that doesn't have as much fat and still good. Are there any kind of
bean snacks? Popcorn without oil is too bland and probably too high in
carbs.

If you get shredded coconut you can put it with bittersweet chocolate
chips and dried fruit. You can grind the coconut into a powder if you
don't like it shredded. You can cut dried fruit up into pieces.
Though high in fat, coconut is a slmming food, due to the short and
medium chain fatty acids, which are metabolized differently than the
usual long-chain fatty acids found in most food Americans eat. -

put them in salads for a crunch.Hemp seeds are supposed to be nutritious and available in health food
stores. They might be expensive. The previous comment about pork rinds is on the mark, they have a lot
of protein for the fat and there is a microwave version for even lower
fat.Soft pretzels are low in fat, but have carbohydrates and go well with
beer.Popcorn can work if you weigh the amount of oil you are using to about
5 g of oil to 40 g of popcorn. I also use the microwave or hot air
popper for popcorn, but have trouble getting seasonings to stick.Pickled herring, smoked oysters, sardines, or low-fat cheese on a
low-fat cracker is another good snack.--

Yesterday I bught some roasted and salted soybeans, not as good as peanuts
but passabel and not as addictive. I also got some salted, roasted in the
shell pumpkin seeds. I'll bet I cut my calories by 75%.

My brother who is a homing pigeon racer used to feed his homers hemp seed as
he said they came home quicker.
But I'm retired and at home so what was I say?--
