What is everyone else doing for
    Easter and/or Passover?

    Nothin'. Godless heathens here. :-)

Oh, wait, not true. My wife's a pagan, and I'm planning to make her
    some of these eggs:

  2. While I am laughing because your description is so humorous, I
empathize. It is a sad thing when people mess up the opportunity to
enjoy a meal. But some just don't have the talent, or the experience, or
just don't care. I mean, some people just don't like food.

Well duh... I'm not Jewish. I'm an agnostic. Besides, who says Matxoh
    Ball
Soup can't be taken on a fishing trip 😉

    It's just wrong.

Who deemed it wrong? The Gods of the fishing trips 😉

    Michael

No - it would fall into an interesting, but small category of things which
baffle physicists and mathematicians. The probability of certain things
happening is known to be greater than 100%. For instance, put an open cup
within a certain area on the table near a kid, and chances are far above
100% that it will be knocked over. :-) The same would be true of the matzoh
ball soup on a boat, unless it was a very large boat which didn't rock much.
But my boat - no soup allowed. :-)

Those eggs are too cool! I don't think I'd have the patience 😉

MIL is doing Easter, which is usually a bone-in ham that she whacks hunks
off of and microwaves. Yes, you're reading it right, the ham does not get
baked in the oven, it's just desiccated in the microwave. Then she usually
dumps maple-flavored pancake syrup on top. This is usually served with
whipped potatoes that may or may not be over-mixed and gluey. Green beans
with bacon bits usually round out the meal. There may also be a salad, often
served with bits of what looks like canned cranberry sauce on top, and no
dressing of any sort. Bacon bits again, and perhaps shreds of orange-colored
    cheese-food.

This sounds so awful. It reminds me of a particular branch of Rich's
family who makes "salads" including sliced gum drops and cool whip.
They also thought the bisquick instant cheesecake tasted the same as a
real cheesecake (my husband asked if they had tasted mine when they made
that statement). A couple years ago they came to our Thanksgiving, and
since I don't stuff the bird, mentioned that they would like to bring
stuffing, and cranberry sauce (I wasn't making it that year), I said
sure thinking they had some family recipe they wanted to make. They
brought cans of the cranberry jelly, that you slice, and boxes of stove
    top.

You see why we host most holidays at our home.

    Regards,
    Ranee

That's about it. The food is there, it's edible, and there are no other
expectations. We don't go for the food, we go because it's family. Couple
glasses of wine and I'll have the giggles anyway.

I live in Hong Kong that's why.. south of China is OK, but the north
    would take much longer.

I'm going to Steven's sister's home on Wednesday for Passover.
Steven *always* makes these little rolls (can't recall the name)
made of Matzo and a potato kugel (his mother's recipe). Well... he
can't make it. He'll be gone from early morning until about
midnight. I have to make the rolls and potato kugel. Wish me luck.
I've never made either before 😉 Then of course it's off to
mother's for Easter Sunday. I don't have to make anything so I'm off
the hook there 😉 What is everyone else doing for Easter and/or
    Passover?

I am hoping that I get an invite from someone I'd like to spend Easter with.
Not all family members qualify! :-)

If I was feeling better I would. I'm not up to making a big spread right
now, but will contribute to the table of another.

Wine can be a great solution sometimes 🙂
