  1. Do their (Parker Int'l) prices include VAT? For the
collection of bits and pieces I'm looking for (Ultegra
    chainset and seatpin; 105 BB and headseat; HG93 chain;
splined BB tool) they are about £30 cheaper than Wiggle and
    about £75 cheaper than SJS.

From the "Questions" page on their www site:-

" Our advertised prices are in Pounds Sterling and
    include VAT "

Congratulations on discovering this excellent supplier
(their prices are 4 real and inc VAT, and service is
excellent). I use their website as my default price list for
    all roadie equipment.

I think they can sell Shimano and Campag so cheaply because
they buy it direct from the manufacturers. Can anyone
confirm this? They buy in large bulk anyway.

By the way, check Mike Dysaon's for a splined Shimano-
compatible BB tool (if a basic type without any
    bolts/handles) is acceptable.

Not just you. I have been in more than one shop where, when
I asked for a price they got out the Parker Ad and based
    their price on that.

Me too, the chaps I have spoken too when I need to
discuss something rather than simply place an order have
    been very helpful.

Sounds very likely to me; Spa Cycles in Harrogate offer good
prices on Stronglight stuff because they order direct from
the factory. However, this does make things difficult in the
summer when the company shuts down for France's big national
    holiday :-(
