Paris bike shops, the revenge

well ahead of time that you're not going to buy from them, no matter what.
Darwin should take care of the shop in time; situational ethics (excusing
your own bad things because they're bad) isn't called for.

The only Shimano cleat I can think of this applying to is the
essentially-defunct SPD-R design, which used two bolts in a North-South
line on the shoe.

This was preceded by Look-compatible road pedals (the notorious "Lance"
models) and succeeded by the SPD-SL, which is compatible with the Look
bolt pattern. They may have discontinued Look-compatible road shoes in
the brief SPD-R interregnum, but those days are as long gone as the days
of the Time 4-bolt pattern.

I did a similar thing once in high school. This redneck was always
trying to be a bully to everyone. One day when he wasn't at school, I
peed into his locker, surely inundating his gym clothes at the bottom.
The next day he wore them with no complaint. Everyone was laughing at
him and he didn't know why.
