  1. Hi all,

It's been a crazy couple years for the Edwards' family and we haven't
been around much, even missed last summer's big get-together in Salt
Lake City. My apologies for neglecting you all here in the forums for
    so long.

I've been laid off twice in the past two years and we have been
struggling a bit trying to get settled down again. Not much work in
Smalltown, USA. But it's getting better. After being recently laid off
again and thinking we would finally have to consider moving, just last
week I accepted a career-track position with the City of Rochelle as a
Building Engineer/Inspector. Maybe we'll see the dust settle and we can
    finally get on with life.

Ben and Brad are now in H.S. and Jr. High respectively and our
activities seem to have quadrupled. Both boys continue to play soccer
most every weekend of the year and Ben is now on the H.S. wrestling
team...and pardon my bragging, he is the top 145 lb. freshman wrestler
in the conference. He still can't take me, though.

Our uni club still exists, has struggled as well over the past year or
so but is now beginning to pick up again, albeit, somewhat slowly. We
rode in the Rochelle Christmas Lights parade last Friday night. What a
blast to ride at nighttime in the cold weather.

All this to say that I'm going to try to get back here with more
regularity. You all are among the best people on earth and we are
honored to be considered a part of the unicycling family.

    Bruce

P.S. Had to add the action pic of Ben. I love the expression.

  2. Glad to hear all is going well with you and your family.

You were missed in Salt Lake City. Perhaps you can still make the trip
to Utah this spring for Moab Munifest.

    Nice to have you back.

  3. Wow, it has been a long time. Rest assured, you have been missed on the
forum, but we some how managed in your absence. That's great news about
the job. I have also been having a spot of trouble finding work, but I
don't have a family to worry about. I hope things work out well for you
and your family and you continue to post on the fora.

  4. Welcome back Bruce. Glad to hear you got a job and can get settled back
into a groove again. It's been awhile since I was last unemployed and
it's very draining emotionally, especially with a family.

Since I've started with this forum after you stopped spending time here,
it'll be fun to see what you add to it.

I've always been jealous of people who have clubs in their area. I

  5. Bruce-

Good luck with the upcoming position. I've missed seeing you on the
forum. Ben can't take you yet but you didn't mention anything about Brad
or Mary. Why is that, mister "rollover?"

I'm not sure what the two lay-offs have done to you, but I guess you
are not yet in the 145 lb league.

Good to have you back on the forums.

  8. Good luck with the new job Bruce. Glad things are moving in the right
direction. And your kids are lucky to have parents who are so proud of
    them.

    Cheers!

  9. Bruce, good to have you back. Congratulations on the new job, sad to
hear it isn't here in Atlanta.😄 I guess for your kids though it is
good you were able to stay at in Rochelle.

Mary is definitely the strong arm of the family. Then again, I ALWAYS
have the last words in my family..."Yes, dear."

By the way, for you wrestling fans, I posted some of our matches clips
to http://gallery.unicyclist.com/bengiraffe starting on the bottom of
page 3. This was the easiest way to let Grandpa and Grandma see the
clips quickly. You're welcome to peek too.
