Cycle Sport had an article at the time that quoted a bit from his
various supporters and a lot of them seemed to feel that he was
murdered, but they also seem to be spinning conspiracies in the air.
You don't bother to murder someone that is turning into a recluse on
drugs. He wasn't speaking to anyone, including his own contacts, and
he wouldn't have been much believed if he had (beyond his own
contacts, that is). So the reason for murder is what again?

Benjo would be higher on the list. We know rbr listens to him. Ewoud,
if there are pictures. I'd personally put Davey up there, but best I
can tell, he's outlived most of the people that would want to do him
in. Which is a good thing to strive for.

says he can't go to heaven. Nobody's mother, if she is worth a [censored], wants
her son to go to hell.

says he can't go to heaven.

There's no indication that he knowingly and willfully killed himself. Under
that Catholic thing, it isn't suicide unless it was willful. Drug overdoses
and self-destructive behavior don't qualify. See:

Laff@me is correct. Pantani's death was ruled an overdose, not a
suicide.

Buddhists hold that one is reborn onto this planet in a condition suited to
one's conduct in the prior lives. That further poor conduct, perhaps inevitable
given the more wretched form leads to worse. Maybe that doesn't exactly match
the traditional, Christian understanding of hell, but it's close enough for me.
