PPs are a gentle piece of fun = Pendant Points:
They are, by their very nature, poking fun at the person from whom the
PP is claimed but also at the person claiming... because the claimant
are declaring themselves Pedantic enough to claim the Point. The
claimee often exhibits varying degrees of response, from a guffaw of
acceptance to apoplectic hubris.
The latter being more amusing, natcherlee.

clench to their bosom (they're a yourarsey artefact wherein [u.r.c.]
humour runs thicker and deeper than in other places). I think there's
only one other person around here that has a grasp of PPs, Tony of
the House of Buckley and he's a youarsey rejec^H^H^Hader as well.
PPs have long been convertible currency in cam.misc, from whence they seem to
have spread to both of the yewarrsees.
(Pirates pronounce it yewARRRsee BTW :-)
