  1. Hey guys, I've got a serious question for all of you reading this: do you ever get ass pain? The lingering dull and sometimes sharp pain on your sit bones and ass cheeks from riding so much? I do, and I don't know what to do about it. I thought that it might be because I have a cheap saddle, in which case I'm upgrading in a couple months w/ a new bike. I've got good shorts, too.

There's no excuse for this ass pain when I'm out there laboring and have this terrible pain in my ass... I hate it. It can't just be time off the bike that I need, it just can't. What do you guys do about it?

  2. Yes, yes, yes! These bloodly ergo seats are driving me up the wall! Guve me a normal seat FFS!

I am testing my 4th saddle. It's a specialized. I paid $140.00 cdn for it. So far, it's not as bad as the 3 previous ones.

I'll wait to test it outside, if I am not fully satisfied, I am gonna buy an other one.

    Cheers

  4. I had this a lot and went through 4-5 saddles before settling with a specialized toupe.

What was happening was my seat bones were wider than the saddles. So when I sat on it the seat bones used to seperate with my weight. Imagine someone seperating your seat bones for 3-4 hrs!! I know the pain.

Specialized comes with different saddle widths and the dealer makes you sit on a memory gel that then they measure to tell you your seat bone size. To my surprise I was pretty wide for a short guy.
Now I am REALLY happy and no more seat bone pain. Bottomline is think REALLY hard what hurts and then try to figure why it hurts.

Are you standing up periodically to relieve the pressure on your bottom? If not, you should start relieving the pressure every five to fifteen minutes. This is particularly important after and during long hill climbs.

  6. I am new to the forum but have been racing for years. Try out the Fizik Arione saddle. It is longer than other saddles so there are more possible positions you can achieve and it also has a decent flex on it to adapt to your own pressure points. Saddles are worth the money. They can make a 40 mile ride feel like a century or a century feel like a 40 mile ride. Good luck!
