My pacemaker control printouts include two sections named,
respectively, "Mode change episodes" and "Atrial high
frequency episodes".
Two questions, please:
1) can somebody explain what different kind of arrhythmias
can be associated, in general, with the so called mode
change episodes?
2) an atrial high frequency episode at a frequency as high
as 272 per minute, could it indicate a flutter episode,
or a fibrillation episode, or what else?
The reason of those questions is that my today PM control
has detected as many as 11 mode change episodes, with 1
atrial high frequency episode only, over a 2.5 months
timeframe. Notes: -the frequency of those 11 mode change
episodes ranges between 200 and 300 per minute -the
frequency of that single atrial high frequency episode is
272 per minute -the length all those events is between 1.5
and 4.5 minutes.
Thank you
