  1. The Paceline is down, any theories?

Bambi over on DP thinks it is because of "trolls". Such a pathetic term, quite unedifying for an adult to use, hence House' invocation ten times per minute.

So, should Vader et al take credit for shining a little light?

Did Chris Brewer or Cathy Mehl figure to pull the switch because of the PR hit they were taking, and some Paceliners figuring the dopers from the dopes.

    Serves them right.

Mehl covering herself in glory over on DP, with the hit on Betsy Andreu.

yeah, we knew that, the lemmings followed them over.

  4. I really didn't pay attention, did folks do anything more that just posting about the OMG idea that Discatana riders are not clean?

Is that what really brought the discovery fan forum um I mean astana fan forum down? A few posts from people that don't agree with the cult?

it was the malignancy, they co-opt a team, throw Kloden out, disown him as a loner, and "not-to-be-trusted". Everything is smelling roses, the uranium spot price is high, and the mineral economy booming - "Go Astana!".

It may have only been one post, but the post on Kloden was instructive to the mentality over there.

  6. Lance probably didn't pay the internet bill. :p

but why shut down the forum, just ban the non-believers... I don't get it, but I guess I'm in the evil camp as I post here.

  8. Chris t/Thunder, you still follow what I post at DP???? :p

    I said at DP:
And partly thanks to the trolls here they had to shut the PL forum down.

see the PARTLY part??? Guess not...

Anyway your trolling didn't do the trick, more likely this:
The forum is/was owned by Tailwind, so maybe you were right, Lance was probably reading it too!!! So it's caput now.

  9. Bro... I think your ruse is working el perfectamundo... 😉 😄

If Tailwind really was/is the owner, then I wouldn't be surprised if the whole site goes away. After all, why would they care anymore? Unless someone else picks up the tab, like I don't know, Team Astana perhaps?

they get a little mileage out of it.

exactly, they get a ready group of fans who idolizes anything and everything Bruyneel does, and noone asks questions.

there are plenty of free forums out there, why not just set up the Discatana Brownnosers and Arselickers Club yourselves?

How big is The Cult - as in how many dudes are registered there? If it is a small group, they will probably migrate to other forums, although there may be logistics involved with the set-up. Or who knows - if people are stupid enough to donate money for FL's defense, they will probably be willing to chip in something to set up a separate forum.

  17. I don't think it is down. I've been posting there non-stop. When I think about it, it does seem rather quiet though. Nobody has responded to my posts in weeks.

  18. LOL Vader!

I recall reading a thread at the Paceline forum that discussed the potential of a forum at the Astana site. But it sounded like it would be on a new Astana site as the setup on Johan's was only temporary.

The Tailwind theory makes sense but it's probably a combination of things.

A few I can think of are:

    1. The actual ASO/RCS races start and take place right now. The P-N thread was getting heated. Mind you, mildly so, but by Paceline standards any argument seems to be a no-no.
    2. Enough controversial conversations by other users, many new, were causing stress to the Cult members and creating strife. Strife is bad at Paceline.
    3. Given the fact that the forum will end someday for an Astana one, perhaps they thought to end it now.

Liberal use of the word journalist.

Isn't there some organization that stops you using the term if you don't have sufficient independence.

Why don't they just cut to the chase and call them the PR puppets that they are. Or "Vice President - American Fan Liaison".

It would be like hiring a pharmacist and calling him/her a team doctor. Maybe there is a better analogy than that... 🙄
