Preferable to stumbling around the NEC! It is a very weird
thing the Outdoor Show. People go to it all dressed up in
their walking gear, with day packs, water bottles. I even
saw one woman strolling around and sipping on her platypus.
And there were some people with very big packs, i.e. 65
litres or more. I hope they had bought their packs at the
show, but somehow I'm not quite sure ...

On the other hand - on those rare occasions that I go to B &
Q I am struck how every one except me is dressed relatively
smartly and it is only me that is covered in some sort of
gunk and showing workman's bottom.

The only thing I can't claim is the builder's bottom, and
that's because I wear long T-shirts <g> but you'll very
rarely see me dressed smartly in somewhere like B&Q. I'm
normally in the middle of a job when I need to go there so
I'll be covered in whatever muck was involved in whatever it
was I ran out of nails or glue in while I was doing it.
(I've re-read that last sentence several times. It still
doesn't make sense. Never mind, I'm sure the bright folk in
urw will understand it and then they can explain it to me.)

Yep. Experienced that one as well. I think its something to
do with shopping as a leisure pursuit ...

... Wonder if any of that stuff ever gets used.
