They used to do that with cannon balls. Isn't science wonderful! Just
ask any one of the multitude in Iraq who have encountered roadside IEDs,

But does it grow a new someone? Yeah, that's the ticket. But I think it
has to be live. His vw doesn't cactilate altho pieces fall off from time to
time.
I wonder if stray cats cactilate. Or just reproduce thru the ozone layer
or something? There seems to be a never ending supply.

Actually there's a site called A Word A Day, and the website is
wordsmith.org. If you want to subscribe here's the link:

They send a different word with the definition to your email every
workday, and a short quotation. Usually the week's words are all part
of a theme. Sometimes the theme is no theme this week.

Thanks, Ken. I already subscribe to two word-of-the-day
web sites. The best is Word of the Day from YourDictionary.com.
They have wonderfully complete etymologies and even discuss
related words from the same root, often in other languages
in addition to English. The other site I subscribe to is
not nearly as good, vary boring words and limited etymologies.
Maybe I'll check out the one you mentioned.

Can you not see how this newsgroup has lost quality from the
preponderance of off topic posts? Everyone seems to think *their* off
topic posts are witty and worthy...and somehow exempt from netiquette,
but it ain't so!
