this. Well worth it, really inspirational and good fun.

Educational, inspirational and good fun.

My kids (8 and 9) were really at the bottom age that could cope with it
(and only if the kids are already quite bright and interested) but
secondary kids who are interested should get a huge amount out of it.

They participated in at least three experiments (measuring their
respiration, measuring the effect fo excercise on muscle oxygen, and
seeing whether (real live) mosquitos were attracted to them) , had
their minds read [1], designed a jet engine, tried computer games
whilst being blind and tried to land the mars orbiter.
Amongst many other things. The people manning the exhibits are teh phd
student/postdocs/professors actually doing the work so some are better
than others at articulating what they are doing than others.

But hurry, tomorrow is the last day until it goes to Glasgow in
September.

[1] smart software from cambridge uni that picks up facial features and
monitors them.

I'd not normally condone missing school, but this is well worth it.

Mark's school breaks up at lunchtime today so I might suggest he takes
himself along tomorrow for the last day. Thanks for the pointer.

I would imagine a student directed activity would still require
permission, even if at the extent of 'Mum, can I go to the best
exhibition of science research this year?'
