OT: Why do people post non-relevant issues here???

Alt.mountain-bike has no charter, so there is nothing that defines what is
"acceptable", so anything goes. The "OT" prefix is therefore just a
courtesy.

Are you saying it CAN'T "just be plonked or ignored"? Not only can it be
ignored, it can be ignored extremly easily...unlike e-mail spam where a
concerted effort is made to make it difficult to distinguish from other
e-mails.

If you're having problems getting your newsreader to ignore these, you can
even post about THAT here (as there are no rules), and you'll likely get
help.

Home repairs are like pulling a string on a sweater. Mr. Adventure was going
to replace the rollers on our primary slider door to the back door on
Sunday, and to make a long story short, I now have a nice new Pella vinyl
slider. Can you believe they didn't use any flashing or weather strip on the
original install? Aslo, standard sizes have changed since our home was built
in 1979, the opening was 2" too high for what is standard now.But he's
handy, he fixed it right up. My, they certainly have made advances in the
thermal efficiency of these things.

Tell me about it. We decided to take the dropped ceiling out of my sons
room. A month later we've stripped the wallpaper, fixed the plaster,
new trim, new paint, new lighting...
Oh, and its cost me several good weekend riding days (just so's its on
topic ;-)

AM-B is a sufficiently small news group that people here get to know and
(occasionally) respect each other. As in most small groups with similar
interests, people feel fairly free to express their opinions and solicit
those of others in the group.
So quit whining and GTFOAR.
