up in searches now. Hopefully, there soon be a way to block these, too. I
never look at them, just click them away, but they really are a nuisance.

What really ticks me off is looking for recipes on Google. Sometimes,
not always, you can type in 'XXXXX Recipe' and it pops up dozens of
websites. Most of those websites are trying to sell you one of the
ingredients in the recipe.

Search Assistant (by WinTools) is installed. Remove it.

Some of the results I get are ingredient-oriented, but usually on the
first page (sometimes second) I'll get the recipe I want or realize I
need to refine the search.

Well, checked it all out and this doesn't appear to be the culprit. In
fact, I figured it was time I did some more in-depth checking, so verified
all installed programs, and found nothing suspicious.

FWIW, I routinely run Spybot Search & Destroy with Spobot S&D Resident,
Ad-Aware, WinPatrol, and SpywareBlaster. None of these tools shows a
problem. I also run AVG anti-virus software and have both hardware and
software firewalls.

This is either a total fluke or completely invisible. :-)

Thanks for the suggest, though. It certainly sounded like that could be
it. I'll keep looking, however, because it does seem like a parasite.

it's not google. you have some adware or screwy browser help objects causing
that. use a cleaner such as adaware and spybot S&D to get rid of them

I don't know if this will make a difference in your Googling, but I
always go from the general to the specific:

"recipes [main entree or name] [ingredient, if needed in the
description]"

I don't have much trouble going straight to a good URL.
