They should have let him hang around his lawyers until his IQ topped 100 and
then tried to rehabilitate him. But clearly, this is a freak case. Hanging
around lawyers hasn't improved anyone's IQ here at rbr. ;-)

It was the stimulation, not the lawyers. If he'd have hung around
normal people he would have tested an 85. But hanging around lawyers
stunted his potential. But he can LIE like a muthafutha now.

After have spent many years on this earth I have given up on rehabilitation
and other tricks that do not work to improve a malfunctioning brain. It is
in most cases a waste of funds and time. The only benefit is to those
administering the programs who seem to be well compensated monetarily if not
through personal satisfaction. I can understand their frustrations working
with something that has no or little chance of success..

Parenting is where the money needs to be spent. Those first years are where
things need to be fixed.

the system was difficult, and we had tons of people in it who wanted to
help. I really don't know how someone coming from a situation with
little parental support, learning difficulties, and possibly other
problems would get enough help to make a difference. The case workers
are massively overloaded, the programs have been cut, and the system is
incredibly difficult to make work for kids at risk.
I'm not saying this is the only answer by any means, but it should
damn well be a lot bigger part of addressing young at risk people, and
young offenders.
I fully support "three strikes" laws for violent offenders, capital
punishment in limited cases and longer sentences, but that said there
needs to be much more treatment and rehab for first offenders, more
treatment when they are locked up, and more life skills classes. This
isn't going to end the problem, but it's been shown over and over that
it can, and does have a significant effect on reducing recidevism
rates. Just warehousing them, along with other criminals, where they
can network is not helping much.

Whoah! Greg don't you know that all cultures and their values are
equal? You are clearly racist to suggest that they aren't. Sharia Law
is good. Raping women for their brother's crimes is good. Asians
scoring way above everyone else as a group in standardised testing is
just an abberation, despite their 30 centuries of valueing learning.
What really makes me scratch my head is how far behind the curve the
great civilisation that gave us Algebra, sophisticated celestial
observations, great literature and art has chosen to fall. They
occupied huge portions of the globe for hundreds of years and went
backwards in that time. Then they supported the losers in WW1 and 2,
the Cold War, and still support Nazi ideology.

now but what they might have been. I agree that murderers ought to be

Phil - it isn't possible for him to score that much differently as an

I think that in order for lawyers to improve the IQ of someone they
firstly need to have some themselves.
