Nope, MTBBill gave me some [censored] toeclip pedals that will be going
on after I get a little used to it. The pedals currently on it came
out of my spare parts box and had never been used.

So why are you riding this? what does road biking do for you that
mtbing doesn't?

Allows you to go someplace you actually HAVE to be (like work, or the
store, or pub).

As opposed to just taking you someplace you WANT to be (not that
there's anything wrong with that).

Generally, road bike miles can replace driving miles - and even if
you'd much rather ride MTBs, riding a road bike is MUCH better than
driving. I get in around 5,000 "driving replacement miles" a year on
the road.

Actually, I'm prrrreeeeetty sure that Peugeot used that same frame for
their non-PX models. It's also identical to some Giant frames of the
period.

I'm not sure about Giant's history regarding Panasonic. As Giant used
to rebadge a number of frames for Specialized and other brands, they
may be one and the same. Which, I suspect, would actually make them
Taiwanese.

I have seen some killer Japanese Panasonic track frames. I'd imagine
that there may have been a "Paramount"-type division that did the
top-end stuff and mass-production facilities for the rest. Which brings
us back to Schwinn....
