No problem and if you have any time left over after playing sudoku be
sure to check out Bejewelled or Bejewelled 2. Totally addicting 🙂 If
you plan it right between cooking, posting here, and those two games you
should have no time for sleeping or working. Work is over rated anyway 😉

Happily, numbers and I don't get along, but I feel your pain nonetheless.
Ask me about the wasted hours/days/years I've spent with the NYTimes
    crossword puzzle . . .

    It's pitiful.

Pop Pop (on Mom's side) was an avid NY Times Sunday crossword puzzle
expert. He was so conceited, he used a pen. And he'd finish between 15-20
    minutes, never an error.

I musta been upside slapped silly or dropped by my older brother a couple
times back in my youth, cause I ain't never had a lick o' sense much as
far as I been told, even to this day.

You don't need to be good with numbers to do well at sudoku, as far as I
can tell. I just downloaded a version yesterday for my Mac, and I only
played it for a few minutes. The numbers are simply symbols; they could
be any set of symbols; as the concept is the same. No mathematics
ability at all is needed for Sudoku.

Whoa, I guess I mistakenly inferred that math ability was necessary; so
Sudoku is more about pattern recognition??

Perhaps I'm better off not pursuing it, though. I've too many obsessions as
    it is!

I've only taken a peek at the site, but the most obvious statement on
it is that no mathematics are involved. It's simple reasoning skills.

Thanks for the suppor; having finally weaned myself off Tetris, I'm loathe
to go near another time-consuming diversion. Can't stay away from that
bloody crossword puzzle, however, more's the pity!

Ahem! You could always consider crossword puzzles as mental health
exercises. I am of the opinion that the brain needs exercise just like
our heart, lungs, and muscles do.

It gets enough exercise first thing in the morning.

    "It" being what, Andy??

And Stan, for all my grousing, I am indeed in agreement: doing crosswords
works my ol' brain quite nicely, and I plan to keep at it for years to come.
