Exactly - spend a half hour this morning showing and just touching the Santa Cruz Chameleon frame
which was delivered to my desk at work - it even arrived before I did get in:-)

In the past I have even managed to have UPS redirect packages from my home to my work, before
they even got as far as to try and deliver them to my home. IMHO UPS is a nice bunch except
management sucks.

Yeah, I just attempted to mail my bike via UPS to Seattle where I was planning a vacation last week.
I picked out a bike box from work, it had to be an XL for my bike to fit inside. The box had a UPS
label on it from when it was shipped to us. I packaged my bike and sent it just in time for it to
arrive on the day I needed it in Seattle. Well, the next day the box comes back with an audit stamp.
Apparently it was 2 inches too tall and they required me to pay "oversize" shipping fees. Now, not
only would I have to send it 2nd day air (to get it there in time) I would have to pay an additional
$50.00 in fees... bringing the shipping cost to $115.00! I declined this option, of course... and
got a rental bike in Seattle for $30.00. (Since sending it on the plane would have cost me $80.00 +
the cost of repairing any damage caused by poorly paid handlers).

I went to their shipping warehouse on the same day and raised hell. A few hours later I got my
bike back. That was the day I almost wound up in jail.

I'm a real levelheaded kind of guy, and it takes a lot to set me off, but once it
does............... I understand the jail thing. 🙂

Of all the shipping I've done during my work career, I've not have too many problems. For the most
part, the UPS guys are great, and usually very helpful. I just get [censored] when it happens to ME! 🙂

I would be really afraid to ship my bike anywhere. If I was a racer, yes, out of necessity. I'm just
anal as hell about my stuff. My sister even pointed that out to me.
