Mark McN said:There seem to be fewer England flags around: I saw only
one car decked (The woman in the corner-shop sternly told
me yesterday I should be flying the England flag on the
bent, instead of the nice pennant provided by AVD. It goes
without saying that I turned on my heel with dignity, and
hit her with a roll of Happy Shopper binbags.)
I now have a 3 foot England flag on the flag pole of my
trike. Its quite fun and nice in a way, though I see a lot
fewer cars with them here, so am starting to feel a little
more alone with it. I think it does increase the visibility
of the trike though - less chance of a SMIDSY. Also drag is
surprisingly not too noticable, at least at the speeds I've
been with it so far.
The only problem is that after only a couple of miles its
starting to pull apart at the top eyelet - so much for
quality. Could be that the top is held tight to the pole
with a cable tie.
Its too big for anything but quiet road or cycle lane use.
Whether it goes out with me to my karate lesson on Thursday
depends on what the result is of that game, and whether or
not I know the result of that game by the time I leave the
house. Thursday nights tend to be straight home from work,
get changed, go out again, so no time to watch football.
