The ones in the nest box in my garden ar at a similar stage of development.
It's like watching a miniature Berlin Airlift watching the parents'
countless 'missions'.

We've also got some thrushes and a wren nesting in the hedge at the back.

Our nest box had a family of coal [censored] this year. I've got a short video of
one of the adults going in and out but it's not worth posting (it was taken
with a cheap camera and is a bit out of focus).

long-tailed [censored], chaffinches, greenfinches, bullfinches, robins etc., etc..

When I was young there was a robin we called tennis ball, because of
its shape and size. It lasted for quite a few years.

There was another one that was even more friendly than robins
generally are. It though nothing of sitting on the top of the blade
of a shovel or fork if one paused gardening for a while. It was
always a good idea to check before starting work again.

I heard strange noises from my kitchen yesterday evening. Went to
investigate. Found a big gull (these are the urban, not sea, variety)
battering the kitchen window while perched on the narrow external window
ledge. Never seen one do that before.

An hour or two earlier I'd put a plate with a pound of frozen stewing
beef on the sill inside the window to defrost. The gull could see the
meat. Maybe it could smell it? Still seems weird.
