    Saw 3 shooting stars on my bike ride into work this morning. Is there usually a lot of them this
    time of year same as I think there is at the end of July or start of August? Is there just a lot of
    them about as a one off or was it just a coincidence that I saw 3 and there isn't any more than
    normal? I think there's probably a few people around here who know about these sort of things. Foxes
    seem to be getting very active and vocal too. Nice morning.

    Yep, it's the Geminids meteor shower, it peaks on the 13-14 Dec each year.

    Yes - the Geminid shower will be dying down. It peaks on the 13th Dec every year, building up from
    7th to a maximum of about 75 an hour. By the 15th they are finished again.

    years ago.
