  1. Hi,
Hard to believe, but we have honest to goodness winter type weather
here in Tennessee. Not only is it cold (currently 14 F/-10 C and the
projected low is 7 F/-14 C tonight) we got *snow*. Just a couple of
inches, but it's over a nice bed of frozen sleet (which was loud as
hell last night but pretty). When Sarge and I went out today to
finish Christmas shopping for the kid we were alright (Honda CR-V with
all wheel drive and ABS) but the ditches were so full they burped.
    :-)
One lady we stopped and tried to help mistook her Dodge Neon for a
snowplow and got stuck in the entryway to a bar. Even with both of
us, her, and three gentlemen from the bar pushing that puppy refused
to budge. I shoveled the front wheels free but still no dice.
Finally a 4-wheel drive dually truck came by with a tow strap. Ah
well, our Honda may not be big but it walks through snow and mud we
have no right to expect it to. And it has a moon roof. <G>
Why am I babbling about all this? 'Cause I just feel too good not to
right now. The house is warm, full of lights and decorations and my
Father Christmases and nutcrackers, there's a fire in the fireplace
and it's almost time for our first Christmas in our very own house.
2004 is almost over, Sarge's health challenges are pretty much in the
rear view mirror and there's no reason 2005 shouldn't be good for our
    family.

IOW, I'm disgustingly happy right now. <G>
    I hope it's contagious.

    Have a great night folks,
    Carmen

    Yay, Carmen!

I have a sister that lives in Knoxville, and I know how the weather there is
going. Here in south Texas, we're probably going to get our first snow in
over ten years tomorrow. Have a merry Christmas!

It sounds as if things are coming together for you Carmen; I'm happy for
you. I hope that the new year continues to bring you new blessings.

BTW, what part of Tennessee are you in? I used to live in Gatlinburg.

I've caught it too... all too happy right now (do to a special
holiday project being completed and turning out much better than
    expected).

Have a happy holiday in your new home Carmen.

Wishing everyone else a safe and happy/healthy holiday season.

  10. Merry Christmas, Carmen! Enjoy your white Christmas! Here in Delaware we
just got the wet part of the storms - very wet. But the coffee's a-perkin',
the presents are getting wrapped, the refrigerator is full to bursting with
holiday treats, and it will be a good Christmas up this way, too.

Wishing you and yours, and all you asdl-c'ers out there, a very, very merry
    Christmas.

I'm in south Texas - but it is 26 and it doesn't look like any snow will
fall here. But it is cold.
