Just frigging charming. The feral cat (I named her Bart)is now taking up residence in the garage and apparently has taken ownership of the entire garage space.
Last night was just lovely. I had just eaten a nice dinner consisting of spaghetti, salad and steamed brussel sprouts. Went into the garage to toss the trash and I noticed a blood trail.
Upon further investigation, Bart was huddled over this dead rabbit she had murdered and was happily munching on the rabbit's head. I almost threw up.
I tried to intervene in Bart's feast but gave it a second thought after she tried to kill me too. Apparently one never takes a 'kill' away from an animal. I went back inside and this morning there are dead rabbit remains all over the hood of my Jeep. UGH...

Enjoy breakfast everyone. I'm not hungry.
Why would Bart care about for your pissghetti, salad, and sprouts... cats eat MEAT! Good Bart!
Michael, Bart will have kittens, you are in for a LOT of problems. Trust me.
She's right. Feral cats are bad news. If you're not into snuffing snuggly little varmints yourself, give the SPCA a call. If they waffle, call the closest Audubon Society chapter. The AS is very aware of the impact both domestic and feral cats have on local songbird populations and may provide viable options.

See Bart just doesn't know that he can be turned into Chinese food at the drop of a hat. Cat makes a good substitute for chicken and makes really nice sweet & sour balls so a local restaurant thought before they got caught.
Feral cats are nice for controlling the rodent population but they aren't as tender when bbq'ed and as you have found out they can be rather evil.
As far as the jeep goes get rid of it. Catch the feral cat when he has a rabbit. Then turn both the rabbit and cat into stew. Add a few veggies from the garden . If you want the deluxe version toss in a tree rat!

A .22 rimfire to the varmint's head works wonders in reducing garage gore graffiti.

Nope you need a larger gauge shotgun to leave no incriminating evidence. Might I suggest a cannon? A DF was all how shall we put it - [censored] up. A tree rat was bugging him so he decided to shoot it with a 22. It blew the head off but let the body with claws firmly implanted in the tree. His DW was *not* impressed! Nope better to use something that leaves no evidence at all. I have a tree rat raiding my green tomatoes. I wonder if I can get dyanamite on ebay 😉
I wouldn't even whisper the name. The feds have gone completely nuts on this one. Hell, it's a class 3 felony to even possess a cherry bomb, ferchryssakes. Next, it'll be prison time for being caught with more than a pound of horse doody.

We have tree rats all over the place. They go to ground and dig up my bulbs like crazy.

ROFL... Funny but sad and true. Aerosol cans are next. One can make a blow torch with a single flic of a Bic.

Nah, we rescued a mother cat and her kittens years ago when we lived in the city. We had them all vetted and eventually found good homes for them all. We found Hoot(our cat) at about the same time and decided to keep her. I'm used to rescuing animals. Sheldon (our cocker spaniel) was a rescue and so was Missy (our chow, border collie mix).

I'll do the tree rat and keep the cat 😉 Around these parts the Chinese restaurants use pigeon and crow. Tree rats are discarded with disdain.
After more caches than I can recall, the city of Pawtucket RI has made it a $50 fine for feeding feral cats. No mention of dogs. OTOH, most of the caches of cats numbered over 40 each, living in absolutely horrid conditions.
We had tree rats in the cellar after the chimney sweeps left the cleanout open--the have-a-heart traps are difficult to set, but work wonderfully, allowing you to capture the critter of choice (for cats, use tomato sauce) and take them to a new home.

Oh no!!! I have lots and lots of cherry bombs - - - - - - peppers that is 🙂 Being Canadian we can have those kind of banned things 'cause we are rather peaceful. I'm not too sure about horse doody but I'll be using sheep doody to fortify the gardens this fall.
Maisie prefers birds, altho she tries with all her might to get the squirrels that tease her mercilessly.
She will allow one of "her" humans to take away her kill, but that's because she's not the alpha in the family. Bart, with no alpha, ain't gonna let you get near his kill.
At least he didn't bring the rabbit to your back stairs and leave it there for you to find. Now that all the mice, and moles and voles have been taken care of, she leaves us the birds.

I *hate* tree rats! I had to take down my bird feeders because of them. I time when I can toss out peanuts to the bluejays. They filled up our eavetroph with Christmas nuts to the point DH was ready to kill them himself and he isn't a violent person. They get in the attic and chew wires and the dang buggers are now eating my green tomatoes 🙁 I'd sprinkle cayenne pepper out there but we have to eat the tomatoes and I think that treatment is rather cruel. We have electronic rodent control in the house since I hate the thought of rodents getting in. The tree rats won't come in the front or side yard but think the veggie garden is fair game. Ever seen Caddyshack? The thought has crossed my mind that this might be an effective way of dealing with them and a heck of a lot easier than our neighbour's trap and release plan! If I ever get my hands on one I might just stick it on a large pole then put the pole into the garden as a warning for other tree rats!
