Doesn't exactly give me a warm fuzzy. Hopefully the court will do the
    right thing.

There's much worse happening in Africa right now. Why aren't we doing
anything about it? Oh, yeah, it's happening in oil poor regions.

There's much worse happening in North Korea right now. Why aren't we
doing anything about it? Oh, yeah, it's happening in an oil poor country.

There's bad [censored] happening in China right now. Why aren't we doing
anything about it? Oh, yeah, it's happening in an oil poor country
    that's not a push over.

    Great article. Why this isn't
    front page news on every
    newspaper in America is
    absolutely beyong me.

You mean posting off-topic political stuff on AM-B? (Even if one was an AP
news report and the other a purely biased opionion piece?)

    You're probably right.

    Because it's a person's /opinion/.

    I didn't comment on the
    quality of the pieces.

Well, I would hope that most
    Americans are of the opinion
    that the suspension of habeus
corpus is wrong. Next could be
    the controlled censoring of
    press releases in order to
    protect 'national interests.'

    In addition, I (obviously)
    wasn't suggesting that this
opinion piece - or those like
    it - should be universally
echoed, but that a dialogue of
    this importance should be
    front and center.

It was linked to from a couple of sites commonly looked at here
in the UK and several European commentators have commented on a similar
lack of wisdom from our political leaders in courses they're pursuing.

I can understand the argument against the war, but damn it, if you're
going to go in a capture the idiot, the least you could've done is put a
bullet in his head. Don't know about the rest of you, but I see that nut
