The super premium for the Royal Canin is the Maxi line. I was considering
the puppy mix for large breeds:
http://www.caninehealthnutrition.com/maxipuppy.htm
It may be many things, but "super premium" it ain't. The macronutrients:
chicken meal (good), brown rice (good), brewers rice (garbage), corn gluten
meal (garbage), chicken fat (good), beet pulp (garbage), chicken (ok),
natuaral chicken flavor (shouldn't be needed), sodium silico aluminate (
that's talcum powder, isn't it?), fish oil (ok, but should be a listed
single source fish oil), dried eggs (ok, but should be "eggs"😉.

The irony with this dog food is that my Lab will eat anything she can
reach, including wrapped food gifts intended as presents, make-up bags
with scented lip balms, lunches left in lunch bags, loaves of bread left
on the counter and pretty much any food anywhere that she can scarf
before we catch her. She's a walking garbage can. But we do TRY to
feed her good food.
